As with prisma VENT30 and prisma VENT40, prisma VENT50 ventilates patients via a leakage circuit and additionally via a disposable system with patient valve. Other functions and features in prisma VENT50 include a larger pressure range up to 50 hPa, pressure- and volume-controlled mouthpiece ventilation modes (MPVp and MPVv) and LIAM (Lung Insufflation Assist Maneuver) for cough support and secretion management. With these enhancements to the previous prisma devices, an even broader spectrum of diseases can be treated with the prisma VENT50. The new device is equipped with a complete alarm management system, integrated power supply unit and a rechargeable battery with a capacity of up to 12 hours.
