Pulse Oximeters are medical instruments for measuring the oxygen content in the patient's blood as well as the heartbeat. They are especially useful for patients who suffer from hypoxia due to anemia, or to users of oxygen therapy systems and would like to monitor the oxygen levels in their blood. The oxygen content in a patient's blood is critical for his/her good health, and the margins of deviation from the ideal levels are very small. The limits of these levels depend on factors such as the altitude of the patient's location, the blood temperature, and more, but in general, they should stay above 85% at all times otherwise the risk of reduced mental and motor skills, or even the loss of senses is increased.
