This three-dimensional model showcases the internal structures of the deep foregut, including the descending, horizontal, and ascending duodenum, the pancreas, and the spleen. To provide visibility into the plicae circularis within the proximal portion of the small intestine, a small aperture has been created in the duodenum. This feature serves to contrast the prominent rugae development observed in the stomach (as demonstrated in AW 42).The head of the pancreas is retained in its natural position, nestled within the curvature of the duodenum. A distinct uncus is discernible at the distal edge, adjacent to the point where the superior mesenteric artery divides into its various named branches. Along the upper border of the pancreatic body, the celiac trunk has been dissected from the descending abdominal aorta. The entire course of the splenic artery, with its tortuous path from origin to the spleen, is visible, along with the origins of the left gastric artery and common hepatic artery. In close proximity to the celiac trunk, a segment of the splenic vein emerges from within the pancreatic capsule and can be partially observed along its course, in conjunction with the splenic artery. A small portion of the superior mesenteric vein adheres to the posterior aspect of the pancreas, depicting its course before its customary confluence with the splenic vein to form the hepatic portal vein.The tail of the pancreas is enveloped by the spleen's capsule, concealing any branching of the splenic artery before it enters the spleen.
