Firm Ring Pessary for Pelvic Support and Incontinence Relief
The slightly firmer version of the ring pessary is primarily used for mild first-degree uterine prolapse or a cystocele.
Vaginal pessaries are a very safe option for different medical issues. They are a non-invasive method that offers maximum effectiveness.
How does the ring pessary work?
The vaginal pessary fits in a circular manner around the cervix. This allows it to gently press the vaginal walls outward. As a result, it creates a support network for the pelvic floor.
What can a firm ring pessary treat?
Mild Uterus prolapse
The uterus is supported by the ‘hammock-like’ combination of pelvic floor muscles, tissue and ligaments. When these structures are too weak the uterus slips downwards from its natural anatomical position into the vaginal cavity.
Cystocele
A cystocele occurs when the bladder pushes into the vagina. Depending on the grade of prolapse this can be from a grade one where the bladder bulges into the vaginal wall to the most severe where the bulge appears through the entrance of the vagina.
Can i use someone else's pessary?
Pessaries are intended for use on one patient and are not sterile. So, using someone else's is prohibited.
How can i clean my pessary at home?
The best way to clean your pessary at home is with cool water and mild soap. Do not use hard detergents.
