Urethral Dish Pessary for Gynecology Conditions

The dish pessary, is used to relieve a 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree uterine prolapse or a cystocele. This pessary can also be used for existing stress incontinence.

Vaginal pessaries have been a popular treatment option for many years. The first pessaries were made by natural products, like clay, glass etc. Nowadays, our wide range of pessaries is made from Hypoallergenic medical grade silicone. This makes it safer to use and avoid any possible irritations.

How does the pessary work?

This particular shallow cup-shaped pessary is suitable for use in cases of incontinence. The side with the bump supports the urethra during daily activities. It acts like a "support cushion," preventing the bladder from shifting downward.

What Conditions can a Dish Pessary Treat?

1st, 2nd or 3rd degree uterine prolapse

The uterus is supported by the ‘hammock-like’ combination of pelvic floor muscles, tissue and ligaments.
When these structures are too weak the uterus slips downwards from its natural anatomical position into the vaginal cavity.

Cystocele

A cystocele occurs when the bladder pushes into the vagina. Depending on the grade of prolapse this can be from a grade one where the bladder bulges into the vaginal wall to the most severe where the bulge appears through the entrance of the vagina.

Stress incontinence

Stress incontinence is a form of urinary incontinence. It is due to insufficient strength of the closure of the bladder and can occur when pressure on the bladder is increased because of coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercise etc.

How should i clean my pessary?

For the best disinfection of your pessary you should submerge it in water and mild soap. This offers the disinfection it needs.
