Aquacel Extra Dressings with Cord by ConvaTec – Antimicrobial and Antibacterial

The AQUACEL Extra dressing is a hydrofiber, hydropolymer, and hydrocolloid dressing. It is made of oxygenated cellulose in the form of a woven gauze.

When it comes into contact with wound fluids, the Aquacel dressing immediately turns into a clear, solid, gel-like layer.

Thanks to its high absorbency (seven times more absorbent than regular gauze), it can retain a large amount of exudate within its fibers, while keeping the wound surface moist. This is necessary to create ideal healing conditions.

It promotes angiogenesis and epithelialization, helps remove necrotic tissue (autolysis), has indirect hemostatic properties, soothes inflammation from burns, and can be removed easily without damaging the newly formed tissue.

It is also the only dressing with vertical fluid absorption, preventing the surrounding healthy skin from becoming macerated.

• First and second-degree burns (donor sites)

• Surgical wounds (postoperative, donor sites, dermatological)
